Many families find having a neutral and objective professional at the table to be helpful in guiding difficult conversations. Often something serious in the family has happened to trigger the need for a facilitated conversation.
Having someone else facilitate allows all family members to contribute equally while the Facilitator guides the conversation. The facilitator may suggest other resources for the family to consider in their planning process.
A facilitated conversation and planning process helps many families recognize and access their own resources. A communication plan is developed or solidified and the likelihood for conflict and communication breakdown is reduced.
